In a few short years, the Dover Quartet has become one of the most in-demand quartets in the world. They rose to the top of the international rank after winning First Prize at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition. Recently, this young ensemble was awarded the coveted Avery Fisher Career Grant. Music critics have praised their style of playing as ¨burnished warmth…incisive rhythms…and natural phrasing,” and the New Yorker magazine praised them as the “American string quartet of the moment.” Currently, the quartet is serving a three-year term as the Quartet in Residence at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
The Dover Quartet shares its music with under-served communities and is actively involved with Music for Food, an initiative enabling musicians to raise resources and awareness in the fight against hunger.
